This past year our chapter partnered with three school classes that participated in the “Trout in the Classroom” (TIC) project sponsored by the PA Fish & Boat Commission and PA Trout Unlimited. The students and teachers raised brook trout from eggs in aquariums in a classroom setting. TIC has applications in science, ecology and conservation. This month will be the culmination of the project by releasing their brook trout into a local waterway. Our Chapter will participate in these “release days”. The dates for release are Saturday April 14 for Red Lion 7th grade and Saturday April 28 for two Dallastown elementary schools. Events will take place in our watershed at the Bonham Wake-Robin Wildlife Sanctuary off of Kennedy Road. The students and their families will arrive there at 10:00AM. Join us for a couple hours if you can!
