What is a Chapter Membership Meeting Like? We get these questions from time to time so for those that have never had the experience, I will try to explain. We do have a meeting agenda that is printed and handed out. The agenda normally has the following reports : Minutes read from the previous meeting by the Chapter Secretary. Treasurer’s Report read by the Chapter Treasurer. This report is also printed and handed out. A membership status report. Community Outreach and Fundraising past and future events. Conservation Activities, past and future. A nursery status report. Any other business that may arise or any concerns, questions a member might have. The meetings are meant to be formal so as to keep chapter business and activities headed in the right direction and well documented. But not so formal as we don’t have a bit of fun. Motions are made, some spirited discussions may take place and votes are taken. We make an effort to complete the meetings in an hour’s time. The last two winters we had a meeting at a local restaurant and now one of our summer meetings is held at the local winery. We also had a meeting a Gander Mountain where a PA fly fishing guide made a presentation. If there is interest we include fly casting or fly tying demos at some meetings. These kinds of things offer us a change of pace. So if you have never been to a meeting, please consider coming. Suggestions for additional agenda items of merit or having a guest presenter are always welcome…
